    Learn a new hobby, get help with tricky folds, or just hang out and fold with other origami fans.Paper will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own paper and a box to transport finished models. Please register.

    All ages (8 to adult) skill levels are welcome. Children ages 6 & 7 are welcome but need to be accompanied by an adult helper.

    Local Scouts have an annual autumn tradition of decorating the Village of Monroe with scarecrows! Join the Monroe Woodbury Girl Scouts as they build scarecrows to hang around town. Girl Scout volunteers will facilitate making the scarecrows. Materials will be provided. Please register.

     

    This event is for children and teens of all ages! 

    (Registration begins for all Teen programs on the 25th of the previous month.)

    This program will be held in the program room in the children's area or weather permitting, on the deck. Please register as space is limited.

Participants will create expressive characters and stories of their own. They'll leave with tips and tools to develop them further.

    Learn the basics of watercolor painting ONLINE with artist Shawn Dell Joyce! Shawn will take you step-by-step through the process of painting this fall pumpkin still life, and show you the basics of brushwork (washes, dry brush technique, spattering, and lifting up color), how to mix color and darken or lighten using only water. She will also show some interesting painting techniques like negative painting, wet-into-wet, and making very thin lines with a brush. To participate, have a set of 12 watercolors (pans are ok, tubes are better), a big round brush, a small pointed brush, and a flat square shaped brush about 1/2 inch, Pencil, and watercolor paper sheet 9x12, paper towels, cup with water in it.
